Astrology can be a useful tool to begin to understand the mechanisms and tendencies that move us as individuals. Within the pattern of the stars is held the blueprint of our psyche, or what we perfectly identified with at the time of our birth. So, just as a tarot reading may reveal what is arising within a particular moment of our lives, the study of  Astrology can reveal the map of our karmic destiny, or how astrological alignments may be influencing our behaviour. What is ‘written in the stars’ is reflected upon the Earth plane, which in the Hermetic tradition is referred to as the principle “As Above So Below”.

Within the Alchymie, the descriptions of the zodiac signs and planetary influences in this Collection are given to help reveal the particular set of tendencies we have acquired through birth. However, we are not bound to such descriptions. The Alchymeic Intention held within the Discs and Wands in this Collection are to dissolve all levels of fixity or limitation revealed in the patterns of astrological influence upon us. Thus, as we are released of these particular qualities, so too are we lifted beyond the karma of our ‘born destiny’. Ultimately, we may stand free of all such influences in the awakening to the Heart.
